Jeff Brom
Fintech lawyer, operator & founder.
I work at the intersection of fintech, law, compliance, and company building.

What I'm building
Built for fintech.
Advoco is a legal and compliance firm purpose-built for financial technology companies.
I founded Advoco to bring experienced legal judgment, compliance expertise, modern technology, and an operator mentality together in one firm.
Infrastructure for fintech builders.
Fintech Rails is an initiative developing practical compliance requirements, implementation guidance, research, and industry infrastructure for fintech.
The goal is to make important fintech knowledge easier to understand, implement, share, and improve.
What I work on
Most of my work sits somewhere inside the infrastructure required to build and operate financial technology.
- 01
Payments
Money movement, networks, and the rails underneath.
- 02
Lending
Consumer and commercial credit products end to end.
- 03
Bank + Fintech Partnerships
How banks and technology companies operate together.
- 04
Embedded Finance
Financial products inside non-financial software.
- 05
Compliance Infrastructure
Requirements turned into systems and controls.
- 06
AI + Professional Services
Technology applied to expert judgment work.
A little about me
Licensed attorney in California and Michigan.
I'm a lawyer, operator, and builder focused on financial technology.
I founded Advoco to build the kind of legal and compliance firm I wanted when I was working inside fintech companies: experienced people, practical judgment, strong systems, and a deep understanding of how regulated products actually get built.
I'm also building Fintech Rails, an effort to make the fragmented legal, regulatory, compliance, and infrastructure knowledge underlying fintech easier to understand and use.
I'm particularly interested in how technology and AI can improve professional services without losing the judgment and expertise that make great professionals valuable.
Outside of the formal work, I'm naturally a builder and fixer. I like understanding how things work and figuring out how they can work better.
Let's talk fintech.
I'm always interested in thoughtful conversations about fintech—particularly payments, lending, bank partnerships, compliance infrastructure, and how technology is changing the way regulated businesses get built.
